Kirkland, NY - A Clinton man died Saturday night after he drove off the shoulder of an Oneida County road, sheriff's deputies said.
Evan Paye, 25, was driving a 1989 Suzuki motorcycle south on Post Street about 10:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve near Sawyer Road, Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Toby Lindfield said in a news release.
Paye went off the west shoulder of the road, drove into a ditch and struck a ditch at the end of a driveway, Lindfield said in the release. Paye was then thrown from the motorcycle.
Members of the Clinton Fire Department pronounced Paye dead at the scene.
Deputies say speed was a contributing factor to the crash. Kirkland Police Department and State Police also assisted at the scene.
