Syracuse, NY – A jury found a Syracuse man guilty this morning of two charges of course of sexual conduct against a child and a count of third-degree rape.
The six men and six women deliberated nearly a day before delivering the verdict against Lucas West, 45, of Syracuse. The conviction followed a one-week trial before state Supreme Court Justice John J. Brunetti.
West was accused of having sexual contact with two girls between the ages of 5 and 12 for nearly 10 years. The jury convicted him on single counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and third-degree rape.
West faces up a minimum of five years and a maximum of 25 years in state prison on the most serious count. Brunetti scheduled sentencing for Nov. 19.
