Oswego resident charged in three store break-ins

Oswego, NY -- An Oswego man is charged with several felonies relating to a string of July burglaries in Oswego County, deputies said.

Shane A. Kent, 25, of 6 Varick St., Apt. A, was charged Thursday with three counts of felony burglary, two felony counts of grand larceny, two felony counts and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, a misdemeanor count of petit larceny and three misdemeanor counts of conspiracy.

Deputies accused Kent of breaking into the KTM Mini-Mart in the town of Oswego on July 21, where cigarettes, a safe and cash were stolen. He also is accused of breaking into the Sun Up Food Store in New Haven on July 26, where cigarettes and cash were stolen, and the Pit Stop in Scriba on July 28, where cigarettes and cash were stolen, deputies said.

Kent is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail at the Oswego County Correction Facility. The investigation into the string of burglaries is continuing, deputies said.
