Syracuse, NY – An Onondaga County grand jury has indicted the man whom police said shot a woman last month while she brought her baby to a Nedrow home.
James Tyler, 35, of 315 Mains Ave., was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child in an indictment handed up Thursday.
Tyler was arrested Sept. 26 after he allegedly shot Brittany L. McAlpine in the chest as she brought her 1-month-old son to the home of Linda Warner, 209 Laursen Drive.
McAlpine, 25, of Westbrook Hills Drive, Onondaga, survived after surgery. Her son – Tyler’s nephew – was found unharmed in a crib after Tyler surrendered.
