Spafford, NY -- Two people were injured this morning when a trash truck clipped the back of a farm wagon, went off Route 41 in the Town of Spafford, crossed a ditch and ended up in a muddy cornfield.
At 8 a.m., a tow truck was setting up to pull the trash truck out of the cornfield.
The driver for Dependable Disposal and his passenger were taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life threatening injuries, an Onondaga County Sheriff’s deputy said. He would not release the names of the victims.
The accident occurred about 6:15 a.m. as Eric Brayman, a worker at Fesko Farms, was driving a tractor hauling a feed wagon south on Route 41.
Brayman said he was was turning right into the farm when the trash truck clipped the back of the empty wagon.
The area where the tractor was hit is a 55 mile per hour zone.
