Fulton, NY -- A Fulton woman who told police that her purse was stolen was arrested after police determined that she lied about the theft in an effort to obtain prescription drugs, Fulton police said today.
Sarah M. Hadcock, 27, of 6 Green St., told police that her purse, which she said contained prescription medication, was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at a doctor’s office, police said. Police discovered that the purse had not been stolen and that she made up the report to get more medication, police said.
Hadcock was charged Monday with falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false written statement, both misdemeanors.
