Syracuse, NY -- A man who accused Syracuse police of falsely arresting him and his girlfriend and hitting his girlfriend while she was in handcuffs and on the ground had his case adjourned in contemplation of dismissal Tuesday in Syracuse City Court.
Kareem Davis, 25, of 213 E. Colvin St., was arrested at his home Sept. 21 on a charge of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Police came to the neighborhood after officers breaking up a dice game on Baker Avenue reported shots fired.
Davis twice turned down similar offers at his arraignment and vowed to fight the charges in court after that court date. Davis made no plea before Judge Langston McKinney Tuesday.
After court Tuesday, Davis said he just wanted to be done with the charge and said he was likely not to make formal charges against officers.
If Davis stays out of trouble for six months, the court will dismiss the charge against him.
