Cayuga, NY -- A boil water order has been lifted for the village of Cayuga and residents along state Route 90 in the Town of Aurelius.
The Cayuga County Health Department announced that the water treatment plant is now producing water that meets state standards. Samples showed no harmful bacteria was present.
The boil water order has been in effect for nine days, ever since the plant was found to not be producing water with enough turbidity, or clarity. It affected 280 customers in the area.
