From New York Daily News:
A hopeful Rick Lazio said he has nothing to fear when voters cast ballots on Tuesday - even as polls show his Republican rival for the gubernatorial nomination breathing down his neck. ... "Sure, it's getting close, but I've done so much in the public and private sectors that I'm not worried about this election," Lazio said Sunday. ...
Lazio had a wide lead after emerging as his party's handpicked candidate from its convention last spring, but he has since lost ground to Carl Paladino, a deep-pocketed Buffalo developer who's run an insurgent challenge with the support of right-wing Tea Party groups.
A Siena College poll over the weekend showed the two candidates in a dead heat.
