Volney, NY -- The Fulton woman charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of her daughter in an overheated trailer will be back in Volney town court at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
Assistant District Attorney Gregory Oakes said discussions are ongoing concerning a plea agreement for Sara Landers, 22, of Fulton. She is represented by Oswego lawyer Michael Shanley.
Landers is accused of leaving her nine-month-old daughter Reba J. Barton in a closed camper-trailer for more than two hours on a day with temperatures of more than 90 degrees outside. The trailer did not have working air conditioning.
Reba died as a result of environmental hyperthermia, meaning her body overheated to the point that she couldn't cool herself by sweating.
