Syracuse, NY -- A Rite Aid employee, who police said was stealing $50 to $60 a week from the cash register since May 20, is facing two felony charges.

Marisol DeJesus, 19, of 408 Elliot St., is charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.

Rite Aid officials called police and told them that DeJesus was recorded on video tape repeatedly taking money from the cash register at the store at 522 W. Onondaga St., Sgt. Tom Connellan said.

DeJesus admitted to regularly taking money from the cash register since May, totaling about $1,200, Connellan said. DeJesus said she took the cash because she has money problems, Connellan said.

When a customer refused to take a receipt, DeJesus would keep it, void out the sale and keep the cash, Connellan said.
