Here's what Sgt. Thomas Connellan said happened.
At about 3 a.m., a tractor-trailer jackknifed and rolled over on I-81 north just north of the Interstate 481 interchange. An SUV then struck the tractor-trailer, and another tractor-trailer struck that vehicle.
Some people were injured in the accident, but none of their injuries were life threatening, Connellan said. More information on those involved will come shortly, he said.
Traffic was routed from I-81 to I-481 after the accident to let crews off-load the jack knifed truck. The road was reopened just before 9 a.m.
