Syracuse, NY -- Police are seeking the cause of a two-car accident that sent the drivers to the hospital and blocked traffic for an hour to part of the neighborhood north of Syracuse University this afternoon.
Police at the scene did not know the names of the drivers, the extent of their injuries or what hospital they were taken to. Nor did they know why the Chevrolet pickup truck collided head-on with the Chevrolet Impala at University Avenue and East Fayette Street.
The two cars sat facing each other near the southwest corner of the intersection shortly after 2 p.m. while police interviewed witnesses. Police cars blocked East Fayette Street at South Crouse Avenue and Walnut Street and the one-way University Avenue at East Washington Street while the investigation continued.
The scene was cleared by 3:10 p.m.
