Elbridge, NY -- Two women went to hospitals with what officials called minor injuries after a two-car accident this morning at Route 5 West and Hamilton Road in Elbridge.
According to state police, a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Tammy L. Santiago, 39, of Elbridge, was traveling west on Route 5 about 8 a.m. when an eastbound 2004 Dodge Stratus tried to make a left turn in front of it onto Hamilton Road. The vehicles collided head-on, Trooper Percy Clarke said.
The driver of the Stratus, Joyce M. Sweeting, 75, of Weedsport, was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital with arm cuts, Trooper William Walker said.
Santiago was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center with cuts to her abdomen likely caused by her seatbelt, Walker said.
Their injuries were not life-threatening, he said.
No tickets had been issued as of 9:30 a.m. The crash remains under investigation, Clarke said.
