Syracuse, NY -- A construction worker was struck in the head with a piece of concrete this morning during renovations at Flint Hall on Syracuse University’s campus, authorities said.
The worker was taken to a nearby hospital with an injury not considered life-threatening after the 11:30 a.m. incident, said Sgt. Tom Connellan.
Workers were throwing concrete out of a window into a waste bin when another worker went into the bin, Connellan said. The worker in the bin was struck by a chunk of falling concrete.
Flint Hall is located at 2 Mount Olympus Drive. It houses 527 students and was built in 1956.
Syracuse police are investigating.
