Traffic flows after work is competed on the Butternut Street bridge.
Syracuse, NY -- Commuters using Interstate 81 to get through downtown Syracuse from the north side and northern suburbs saw a welcome sight this morning - all three lanes open to traffic for the first time in about five months.
State Department of Transportation officials reopened the far left passing lane on Sunday, marking the completion of work on the Butternut Street bridge that had closed the lane, a DOT dispatcher said. Workers began dismantling and replacing the bridge in January.
