Salina, NY -- The driver of a car that smashed into the entrance to a Court Street church early this morning was charged with driving while intoxicated, Onondaga County sheriff’s deputies said.
Brittany Howe, 22, of Manlius Street, East Syracuse, was driving a 1999 Buick about 1:30 a.m. in Lyncourt when it crashed into the front of St. Daniel Church, 3004 Court St., deputies said. Howe was uninjured in the crash but her passenger, Theresa Baron-Addison, 43, of Syracuse, suffered a knee injury, deputies said.
Howe was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and speeding and failure to keep right, both violations.
