A two-car crash about an hour ago in DeWitt near Shoppingtown mall sent three people to area hospitals, according to DeWitt police.
At about 4:35 p.m., a BMW turning onto Genesee Street from Pickwick Road collided with another car going west on Genesee Street, police said.
The BMW was hit in the driver’s door, sending it spinning across the middle of the road and two lanes of Genesee Street traffic. The car missed a utility pole and guy wire, coming to a stop on a nearby lawn.
The injured include an 11-year-old and the driver in the BMW and the driver of the other car. None of the injuries were considered to be life threatening, police said.
Traffic was slowed in the area for about an hour.
The crash happened about a block east of I-481 near the intersection of Erie Boulevard East and Genesee Street.
