Many syracuse.com users backed Carl Paladino, a Buffalo-area multimillionaire developer who lost the state Republicans' endorsement for governor to Rick Lazio Wednesday, after he said he'll use his own money to force a primary. Some believed that his business background would be good for politics, others said Paladino’s the breath of fresh air that politics needs. Here’s what syracuse.com user jeffotisco had to say:
"Everyone says Lazio has no chance against Cuomo. I think Paladino, a businessman, has a much better shot at this than the politician Lazio. Lazio has never run a business and has been involved in government his whole life. I think it is time to give Paladino a shot."
