What do you think of OTB as a way for Onondaga County to make money?

Beset with money troubles, Onondaga County is took another look at opening an off-track betting parlor, but rejected the idea on Tuesday.
Onondaga County legislators on Tuesday killed efforts to bring off-track betting here, voting 13-5 to remain one of 13 counties in the state without horse-betting parlors. Some syracuse.com users questioned why the state wouldn't approve potential money-making betting, while others believed that gambling shouldn't be a way to make money.
