Locke, NY -- A Cayuga County man has been charged with raping a 3-year-old girl.
Robert Knapp, 35, of Old Genoa Road, in the Town of Locke, was arrested after Cayuga County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Locke Monday morning on a report that a child had been sexually abused, police said.
According to a release from Sheriff David Gould, sheriff’s patrol and investigation divisions, along with Cayuga County Child Advocacy Center worked on the case and found Knapp had sexual contact with a 3-year-old female.
Knapp is charged with first-degree rape, aggravated sexual abuse in the third degree, first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of criminal sexual act in the first degree.
Knapp was arraigned in the Moravia and sent to Cayuga County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
