Syracuse, NY -- Two women are charged with felony robbery after Syracuse police said they fought Monday with employees of a Carousel Center store.
The two women were leaving Spencers Gifts about 5:10 p.m. when a loss prevention officer accused the pair of trying to shoplift items, police said. The women pushed the loss prevention officer in an attempt to flee, police said. The two women also knocked down a sales clerk, struck her several times and bit her once, police said.
In addition to the robbery charge, Jamesha Glover, 20, of 123 Croyden St., DeWitt, and Tequilla Rogers, 28, of 1427 W. Colvin St., are also both charged with criminal possession of burglar’s tools, a misdemeanor.
Police said the two women were in possession a boosting bag, a bag lined with aluminum foil and duct tape, which is used to thwart anti-theft devices. The pair had items from several other stores in their possession, which police are investigating to see if they were stolen, police said.
