Police: Tavorn Hunter was shot to death on South State St. after struggle.

Syracuse, NY -- Syracuse police today released video of the suspect in Sunday's homicide on South State Street.

The video was taken from security cameras at Middle East Market. The shooting death of Tavorn "TaRoc" Hunter, 27, happened in the street in front of the store. The suspect is described as a black man, in his teens or early 20s, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

The video shows the suspect riding up on a bike and getting into a white SUV with Hunter around 4:45 p.m. After a few minutes, the two get out of the SUV, arguing.

A fight ensues at the rear of the SUV. Hunter struggles with the gunman, trying to wrestle away the weapon. After the shooting, the suspect runs away through a parking lot toward Elizabeth Street and Baker Avenue. Hunter remains lying in the street.

When police arrive and clear the area, someone steals the suspect's bike, still on the ground in front of the store.

Police released portions of the video showing the suspect riding to the scene and fleeing after the shooting.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call Syracuse police at 442-5222.
