Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man was cut on the neck with a kitchen knife following an argument with his girlfriend Thursday night, Syracuse police said.
Police were called to a domestic argument about 8:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Burnet Avenue and found Matthew Hall receiving medical attention. Hall told police he was not getting along with his girlfriend, Tina M. Tice, 49, of 2913 Burnet Ave.
Hall told police he decided to leave the apartment and grabbed “some beers” from the refrigerator, which caused Tice to become very upset because she had bought the beer. Tice displayed a knife as he was leaving and Hall told police he felt a poke on his neck.
Officers observed a one-inch laceration on Hall’s neck and recovered a knife that Hall described from the apartment.
Tice was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Hall, who was named in a order of protection held by Tice, was charged with criminal contempt, a felony, and criminal mischief and harassment, both misdemeanors.
