Syracuse, NY -- Two Syracuse men are facing misdemeanor charges after they were accused of throwing pieces of cinder block through a window into a room where children were sleeping.
A woman who was getting the children away from the windows was struck on her head by a rock, police said.
Shevockie Bloodworth, 18, who is homeless, and Terris Murry, 18, of 13 Gardiner Court, Clay, are both charged with reckless endangerment, trespass and criminal mischief.
Syracuse police gave these details:
Just before 11 p.m., Shawna Pitcher was sitting with a friend on the front steps of her East Laurel Street home when Murry and Bloodworth entered her yard and began having an argument with Pitcher’s friend. As Pitcher’s friend left the porch to confront Murry, Murry threw a garbage can at the friend.
Pitcher told the men to leave and went inside with her friend. The two men began throwing rocks at the house and Pitcher yelled at them to stop because there were children inside the home.
As she ran inside the bedroom to get the children, the windows were shattered by the large pieces of cinder block.
Witnesses directed police to a house in the 700 block of E. Laurel St., where Murry and Bloodworth were taken into custody.
