Auburn, NY -- Authorities rounded up 33 suspects wanted on warrants in Auburn in the past week, charging them with everything from assault to housing code violations.
All told, the suspects were charged with 76 crimes -- 34 felonies, 26 misdemeanors and 16 violations, said Auburn Police Lt. Shawn Butler.
Called "Operation Clean Sweep," the police joined with US Marshals to clear out a backlog of outstanding warrants, Butler said.
Among the more serious arrests, Marshall Dale Miller, 31, of 190 Cottage St., Rochester, was charged with felony criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance based on an indictment.
Jennett Tramae Bowman, 22, of 98 South St., Apt. 4, Auburn, was charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon based on a bench warrant.
