Syracuse, NY -- A two-car accident on the city's Brighton neighborhood sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Syracuse police said a 2001 Pontiac Montana, driven by Johnny Gaston Jr., 21, of 349 Garfield Ave., Syracuse, was struck by a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Marcia Hector, 38, of 821 Onondaga Ave., Syracuse, shortly after 3 p.m. The cars collided at the intersection of East Borden and Baker avenues.
Hector had been headed south on Baker while Gaston was headed east on East Borden, police said.
Gaston and a passenger, Con-Taisha Pringle, 21, of 123 Wall St., were taken to Upstate University Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. An infant in the vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Hector had four children in the Jeep when the collision occurred, police said. While no one was hurt, police said a 9-year-old was taken to Upstate University Hospital “as a precautionary measure.”
There are stop signs at the intersection. Police say no tickets have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.
