Parish, NY – An Oswego County cause and origin team this morning will begin work to find what caused a fire late Wednesday that destroyed an abandoned house at 188 White Road.
A neighbor reported the blaze to Oswego County 911 about 11:29 p.m., a dispatcher said. The Parish, Williamstown, Hastings, West Monroe, West Amboy, Mexico and Central Square fire departments and state police responded.
“When we rolled up there it was engulfed,” Trooper Tom Gallery said. “It was pretty much destroyed. It’s a total loss.”
No one was hurt fighting the fire, which took about 10 minutes to bring under control, he said.
Investigators will look at whether the house had any electricity or gas service, Gallery said. Several neighboring houses lost electricity during the fire and National Grid responded to restore their service, he said.
