Syracuse, NY -- A man who police searched for door to door Tuesday night in a locked down Syracuse neighborhood was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrested Terry Cooper, 19, of 206 Elizabeth St., Syracuse, after he surrendered himself at 366 Forest Hill Dr., Syracuse police said.
Police believe Cooper is one of three men who ran when police broke up a dice game on Baker Avenue, in the city’s South Side, shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday. One of the men ran behind a house and fired a shot, police said.
For more than four hours after, yellow tape blocked off the neighborhood as police, some in SWAT-style uniforms and helmets went door to door looking for the shooter. Police later said Cooper was the man they were seeking.
He is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Both felonies.
Police said Cooper is in the Justice Center and will be arraigned this morning.
The incident remains under investigation.
