Syracuse, NY -- An employee of a West Genesee Street car dealership was injured when a car slipped and knocked the employee to the floor of the repair shop Friday afternoon, police said.
The mechanic, who has not been identified by police, was working on the car at Heritage Lincoln Mercury about 1 p.m. when the car fell, police said. Police originally said the man was pinned to the floor and had to be rescued.
Mike Spinelli, speaking for the dealership, said the employee was never pinned to the ground and did not have to be rescued. He said the man, who is in his 50s, was knocked down by the car when it slipped and struck his head on the floor.
The injured worker was taken to an area hospital with head and arm injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening, police said.
