Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man told police he was shot by a man who tried to rob him early this morning.
Alexander Galan, 17, of Grant Avenue, told police he was talking with a woman about 2:10 a.m. in the 600 block of North Geddes Street when a man he didn’t know walked up with a gun and demanded money. Galan told police he shoved the woman to the ground to protect the woman and that’s when he was shot.
Galan was wounded in the left shoulder and was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where the wound was determined not to be life threatening, police said.
Galan gave a general description of his assailant and did not give the identity of the woman to police, police said.
