Syracuse, NY - A Syracuse teenager was indicted today in connection with a shooting last month that left one man dead and another critically injured.
Jesus Carmona, 15, of 226 Holland St., is facing charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Carmona is accused of acting together with another suspect to intentionally kill Luis Quinonez-Osorio and to try and kill Yojan Ceballos in an Aug. 21 shooting outside the gas station at 631 S. Geddes St.
Quinonez-Osorio, 25, of 322 Shonnard St., was shot twice in the left side of the head and in the left side of the neck and the torso. He died at Upstate University Hospital about 30 minutes after arrival. Ceballos, 25, was shot in the back but was hospitalized in critical condition on life support, according to authorities.
Police at that time identified the second suspect being sought as 23-year-old Emilier Carrassquillo-Fuentes. Senior Assistant District Attorney Robert Duncanson today declined any comment on that because the indictment remains sealed against a second suspect until that person is arrested.
