DeWitt, NY -- A couple were injured this morning when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a Ryder truck on Route 298 in DeWitt.
The accident occurred at 10:05 a.m. on Route 298, also known as Collamer Road, near Loucks Road.
Here’s what DeWitt police said happened.
C.R. Gafrancesco, 46, of Syracuse,was driving a motorcycle east on Route 298 when a Ryder truck exited a cemetery crossing Route 298 to Vollmer’s Market.
The motorcycle collided with the right rear side of the truck, which was being driven by Ronald E. Hunter, 51, of North Syracuse.
Hunter told police he didn’t see the motorcycle.
Gafrancesco was treated for minor injures at the scene. His passenger, Tina G. Winzen, 45, no address available, had leg injures and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Police would not say to which hospital she was taken.
Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
