Syracuse, NY -- Expect to sweat out 90-degree weather one more day, followed by some Friday night showers that will drop the temperatures into the mid-70s for this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
We have a chance to hit 90 degrees for the fourth day in a row Friday, said hydrometeorologist Mitch Gild. So far, our high this week has been 92 degrees, measured at 1:02 p.m. today at Syracuse Hancock Airport.
A cold front will bring up to an inch of rain Friday evening, sending temperatures spiraling back to seasonal averages in the low-to-mid-70s, Gild said.
The high for Syracuse on this day was 96 degrees in 1953, he said. This weather isn't unusual for this time of year.
