Alexandria, NY – An Ontario ultralight airplane pilot made an emergency landing on the St. Lawrence River about 6 p.m. Tuesday after the aircraft developed engine trouble, state police said.
Neither pilot Keene H. Little, 53, of Grenadier Island, Ont., nor his passenger, Richard Starr, 53, of Cornwall, was hurt when the home-built Quad City Challenger ultralight came down near Ironsides Island, troopers said. They were taken to shore by a private boater, troopers said.
The Coast Guard and state Environmental Conservation and Park police assisted state police at the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating, troopers said.
