Smithfield, NY -- Two men in their 20s were charged with three burglaries in the past month in the towns of Smithfield and Lincoln, according to Madison County Sheriff's deputies.
David M. Campbell, 28, and Kevin J. Miller, 22, both of 4851B/4857 Rich Road, were charged with felony burglary, three counts of grand larceny and one count of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as three counts of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Authorities searched their resident on a warrant and recovered some of the stolen property. Counting follow-up trips, deputies seized several stolen firearms and two stolen ATVs, deputies said.
Campbell and Miller were charged in connection with the following burglaries:
• Town of Smithfield garage break-in July 30 on Cody Road. Stolen were two ATVs.
• Town of Lincoln residential burglary Aug. 17 on Lenox Avenue. Stolen were several firearms, as well as other property.
• Madison County landfill in Town of Lincoln Aug. 17 on Buyea Road. Stolen was money, an 10-ton "roll back" 1986 truck. (The truck was found later the same day in a wooded area off Swamp School Road in Smithfield, deputies said.)
Both suspects were sent to the Madison County jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $15,000 bond.
