Schroeppel, NY – The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two people taken to Syracuse hospitals after a car-motorcycle accident Tuesday at county routes 12 and 57A.
Shane K. Brown, 31, of 451 county Route 12, Pennellville, was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital after the 2:50 p.m. crash, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said. He was in fair condition this morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Roberta L. Hoyt, 47, of 274 Peter Scott Road, Pennellville, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, the spokeswoman said. The hospital did not have Hoyt on record this morning, a spokeswoman said.
According to investigators, Hoyt was driving a 1988 Dodge Stratus west on county Route 12 when she tried to turn left onto county Route 57A. The Dodge collided with Brown’s 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was heading east on Route 12, the sheriff's spokeswoman said.
Investigators say failure to yield the right of way contributed to the accident. No tickets have been issued pending the outcome of the investigation, the spokeswoman said.
