State police determine woman was driving in fatal crash

Fulton, NY -- A Van Buren woman who was killed in a single-car crash Saturday night in Oswego County was the driver of the car, state police in Fulton announced this evening.

Brianna L. Paice, 21, of 121 Henderson Blvd., was thrown from the 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora and died at the scene of the 11:05 p.m. crash, state police said. The state police collision reconstruction team determined that Paice was the driver of the car, which is registered to Brad Castellino.

Castellino, 29, of 9 Steeplechase Lane, Lysander, was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash, state police said. He was injured in the crash and taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Troopers said the car entered a curve on state Route 48 in Granby at an apparent high speed and went off the highway. Troopers determined that Paice was not wearing a seatbelt, but that Castellino was wearing one.
