Syracuse, NY -- A shooting victim is improving at Upstate University Hospital after a South Geddes Street shooting that left another man dead Saturday, Syracuse police said Sunday.
The surviving victim, whose name has not been released, was shot multiple times at the Geddes Express gas station and convenience store at the corner of South Geddes and Shonnard streets.
He is breathing on his own Sunday and in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital, said Sgt. Tom Connellan. After the shooting Saturday, he was in "very critical" condition on life support.
Another man, Luis Osario Quinonez, of 322 Shonnard St., was pronounced dead after the shooting.
Police are seeking the public's help in the shooting. Witnesses are urged to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 442-5222. Spanish-speaking officers are available and calls can be kept confidential.
