Reader says barriers won't stop stupid drivers.
Would a barrier on Onondaga Lake Parkway prevent accidents?Onondaga County and state officials have been debating for years whether to install a traffic barrier on the Onondaga Lake Parkway in an effort to prevent crashes such as the two that occurred in two days this week and claimed a life.

"Instead of spending wasted $$$ on barriers, spend it on cameras that will record vehicle speed. Then enforce it by sending tickets to the law breakers. Then ENFORCE payment of these tickets. You aren't going to stop road rage or cell phone use (stupid is as stupid does) by putting up barriers. Barriers will only add to the problem. Until law enforcement starts to actually crack down (not post in the newspaper where and when they will be enforcing the law) on cell phone use daily, there will continue to be selfish stupid people who will use cell phones and text while driving. "
