Mary Denny, 40, was killed instantly. Deputies are still looking for driver involved in possible road rage incident.
Salina, NY -- Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies have identified the deceased victim in Monday's four-vehicle crash as Mary Denny, of North Syracuse.
Denny, 40, of 101 Coolidge Road, was driving northbound at 12:35 p.m. on Onondaga Lake Parkway when a Volkswagen coming the opposite direction crossed into her lane and struck her driver's side door, authorities said.
Denny was killed instantly. Her passenger, Kristen Kelly, 20, of Syracuse, was taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
The crash happened near the railroad overpass, about halfway between Syracuse and Liverpool.
Two other vehicles behind Denny were also involved in the crash. One driver sustained minor injuries and the other was not injured.
The driver of the Volkswagen, Matthew Stephan, 22, of Clay, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He apparently was involved in a road rage incident with another driver before the crash. The other driver, in a silver Scion or Nissan, drove away.
The crash investigation could take several weeks to complete, deputies said.
