Onondaga Nation, NY – A Syracuse man has been taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries after he was found early this morning on Onondaga Nation territory, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Onondaga National Patrol found Sean Turner, 27, of Onondaga Avenue, after they received reports of a suspicious man trying to stop vehicles on Route 11A near Dam Road, sheriff's officials said in a prepared statement.
Sheriff’s deputies were called in about 5:46 a.m. Turner told them he was shot sometime after midnight but would not say who he was with when the shooting took place or describe a suspect, officials said.
The investigation is continuing. People with information should call the sheriff’s Felony Crimes Unit at 435-3081, officials said.

Onondaga Nation, NY – Onondaga County Sheriff’s deputies are near a dam at the Onondaga Nation investigating a shooting.
A man has been taken to the hospital with what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries, a deputy said.
It is unclear where the shooting took place, but seven sheriff’s cars were concentrated about 7 a.m. at a parking lot near a dam on Route 11 A. The area was cordoned off with police tape.
By 7:20 a.m., some deputies were walking on and around the dam, while others were in the parking lot taking photographs and marking the pavement, presumably noting the location of evidence.
