Syracuse, NY -- If the temperature stretches, as expected, to 90 today, it will be the eighth time this month that temperatures in Central New York have reached 90 or above.
Last year it went to 90 or above twice: once in April and once in August, according to the National Weather Service.
There have been seven 90-degree days in July, said Priscilla Nicosia, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Binghamton.

Temperatures then moderate toward normal with highs in the upper 70s and 80s through the weekend, Nicosia said.
Temperatures are normally in the lower 80s this time of year, peaking from the middle of July to the first week of August, she said.
“Then we start to slowly cool off in about the middle of August, Nicosia said.
