An oil slick sits on the surface of the water a few miles from the site of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico Saturday. BP's experimental cap was holding Saturday near the end of a two-day well integrity test. From USA Today:
Pressure testing of the busted well in the Gulf of Mexico could keep oil from spewing into the sea until a relief well is drilled, a BP official said Sunday.
BP chief operating officer Doug Suttles told reporters during a morning technical briefing that the cap could stay in place until mud and cement are used to plug the well for good in August.
