Pressure testing of the busted well in the Gulf of Mexico could keep oil from spewing into the sea until a relief well is drilled, a BP official said Sunday.
BP chief operating officer Doug Suttles told reporters during a morning technical briefing that the cap could stay in place until mud and cement are used to plug the well for good in August.
