Fulton, NY -- A police patrol targeting offenses that lower the quality of life in residential neighborhoods Thursday resulted in the arrest of a Fulton man accused of selling marijuana.
Here’s what Fulton Police said happened.
Two officers assigned to the quality of life patrol Thursday evening responded to a report of an ATV being driven on a city street. By the time they got there the vehicle was gone. Instead, they saw a man walking in the street at the intersection of West Second Street South and Beech Street with an open beer can.
As officers were completing the arrest paperwork for that offense, they recognized another man in the area who was wanted by police on multiple warrants and as part of an open investigation.
The man, Casey Trail, 21, of Seneca Street, was wanted on bench warrants for failing to appear in court on two charges of criminal mischief. He was also wanted on an arrest warrant for falsifying business records, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
In addition, as part of an open investigation, police accused Trail of felony criminal sale of marijuana, and unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Fulton City Court on Friday and sent to the Oswego County Jail with no bail.
Fulton Police have had quality-of-life patrols for about 10 years. The patrols continue at various days and times throughout the summer.
