Syracuse, NY -- A 59-year-old Syracuse man has been charged with arson following a fire Thursday evening that destroyed a camping trailer in a May Avenue lot.
Syracuse firefighters were called about 8 p.m. to the lot at 111 May Ave., where they found the trailer fully involved in fire, Joe Galloway, a city fire investigator, said.
“There were some tires involved and that created some black smoke that could be seen for miles,” Galloway said.
His investigation of the fire determined that the trailer fire was intentionally set.
Willie Blair, 59, of 444 W. Ostrander Ave., was charged with third-degree arson, a felony.
He is accused of pouring an accelerant on the rear of the trailer and then starting the fire, court papers state.
