Manlius, NY -- The body of a man was found by firefighters Sunday at the scene of an outdoor fire in the town of Manlius, sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies identified the dead man as Anthony Zajac, 44, of 6940 Highbridge Road, Lot 37. There is no indication of foul play, deputies said.
Firefighters were called at 6:15 p.m. Sunday to a brush fire on Alverna Heights Road, near the Onondaga County Water Authority's Stephen Rogers Water District Eastern Reservoir site, in Manlius. Zajac's body was discovered at the scene and he was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
An accelerant was used to start the fire, deputies said.
Manlius police originally investigated the death before turning it over to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office. Detectives are awaiting toxicology tests and the medical examiner's final autopsy report.
