Hastings, NY -- A Hastings teenager has been issued a traffic ticket for following too closely as the result of a fatal car crash June 14.
Rikki L. Moosbrugger, 19, of 155 Hogsback Road, was ticketed Monday following an Oswego County Sheriff's office investigation into the crash that killed Carrie Cook, 36, of Route 11, Hastings. Cook's Ford was hit from behind by a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Moosbrugger as Cook slowed to turn into her driveway.
The impact spun Cook's vehicle into the northbound lane of Route 11 where it was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Karl Moseuk, 45, of 310 Johnson Road, Parish.
Cook was taken to Upstate University Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Moosbrugger was taken to Upstate and treated for non- life threatening injuries.
