Homeland Security won't remove the little girl from the list.
6-year-old Alyssa Thomas was taking a trip from Cleveland to Minneapolis with her family when a ticket agent informed her parents that the little girl is on Homeland Security's 'no fly' list, meaning she couldn't fly.
"She's been flying since she was two-months old, so that has not been an issue. In fact, we had traveled to Mexico in February and there were no issues at that time," Dr. Santhosh Thomas said of his daughter.
The Transportation Security Administration told Fox8 News in Cleveland that this hasn't been an issue until now because the "Secure Flight Program" just went into effect in June for all domestic flights.
Alyssa was able to travel with her family to Minneapolis, but her parents were told to contact Homeland Security to try and clear up the issue. When they tried, the little girl received a letter from the government saying that she will remain on the list.
The Thomas family plans on contacting Homeland Security again, to try and get Alyssa off the list.
