Syracuse, NY - A North Syracuse man was sentenced today to two to four years in state prison for a series of break-ins at the same thrift-shop business.
Dana Chiasson, 46, of 207 Allen Road, told Onondaga County Judge Joseph Fahey he acted out of financial desperation and not to support a drug or gambling habit.
Chiasson pleaded guilty last month to one count of third-degree burglary in a Jan. 5 break-in at the Rescue Mission Thrifty Shopper store on South Main Street in North Syracuse. The plea satisfied charges from two other break-ins at the store Dec. 30 and Jan. 23.
